Loden wool clothing originated centuries ago in theAlpineregion of Tyrol, Austria, where it was exclusively worn by the peasantry. Originally worn as workwear by farmers, shepherds and huntsmen, the loden was designed to be a protective, functional garment against the harsh winters of the Alps. However, Loden today is not the Loden of centuries ago. By using better techniques and luxury fibers from Merino Sheep or Alpaca or Cashmere the quality of the fabrics have improved dramatically.
The trousers have been reinforced in the areas subject to heavy wear such as the knees, inner legs and seat, and the inner loden gaiters reliably protect against ticks or moisture. The well-thought-out pocket concept and the knife pocket support you in all practical tasks. Loden simply offers many functional advantages: Firstly, it is quiet, warms even when wet, wicks away moisture, is water-resistant for a while and inhibits unpleasant odors.
When worn directly on the skin, our comfortable inner lining prevents scratching on the skin. Another innovation is that the trousers can be washed at 30 degrees in the wool wash program.
